L'isola maggiore dell'arcipelago delle Baleari possiede 1250Km di strade asfaltate ed è difesa, a nord, da una lunga cordigliera di più di cento chilometri (Serra de Tramuntana, con il Puig Major 1445mt - vedi altimetria e descrizione nel 1° link) ove si possono raggiungere i bei paesi di Valldemosa, Sóller e Deià. Interessantissime le salite al Coll de Cals Reis (strada tortuosa in ambiente estremamente selvaggio), al col de Superna con partenza da Esporles ed al Puig de Cura, partendo da Randa al centro dell'isola, dominato dal santuario posto proprio sulla cima del rilievo. L'interno dell'isola è prevalentemente agricolo e tranquillissimo. Nella parte orientale si trovano zone ancora poco urbanizzate come Cala Mesquida, Cala Agulla o Cala Torta.
