Il principale aeroporto è il Male Internationale Airport (vedi mappa) che si trova sull'Atollo Nord di Male a Hulhule, circa 2 km da Male. Dall'aeroporto si prosegue in barca di solito con motoscafi veloci , in dhoni (vedi foto) o in idrovolante (vedi foto) per l'isola di destinazione. Il servizio di trasferimento tramite idrovolante attualmente è offerto da tre piccole compagnie aeree che, nelle sole ore diurne, collegano l'aeroporto e le isole.MALDIVIAN AIR TAXI (tel.315201) con una quarantina di destinazioni finali.(Sito) TRANS MALDIVIAN AIRWAYS (tel.325708) con una ventina di destinazioni finali.
